Meteoric Resources NL (ASX:MEI) MD Stuart Gale caught up with JustStocks Video soon after announcing a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its Barra do Pacu (BDP) licence, part of the wholly-owned Caldeira Rare Earth Element Ionic Clay Project in Brazil.

The BDP MRE adds 389 million tonnes (Mt) at 2,204 parts per million (ppm) Total Rare Earth Oxides (TREO) using a 1,000ppm cut-off grade.
This includes 77Mt of Indicated Resource at 2,917ppm TREO and a high-grade Indicated Resource of 32Mt at 4,130ppm TREO (3,000ppm cut-off).
The BDP resource significantly boosts the global Caldeira Project MRE to 1.5 billion tonnes at 2,359ppm TREO, containing critical rare earth oxides such as 195kt of Yttrium oxide, 195kt of Praseodymium oxide, 554kt of Neodymium oxide, and heavy magnetic elements like 6kt of Terbium oxide and 32kt of Dysprosium oxide.
The global Measured and Indicated MRE now stands at 666Mt at 2,685ppm TREO, with 22.5% Magnetic Rare Earth Oxides (MREO).
The BDP licence is a geological continuation of the high-grade Capão do Mel (CDM) orebody, located immediately south, and will be integrated into the Caldeira Project’s upcoming Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS).
Together, CDM and BDP host over 150Mt of Measured and Indicated Resources at above 3,000ppm TREO, with more than 20% MREO, forming a high-grade starter area within 1,000m of the proposed processing plant.
This is expected to drive strong economic returns and rapid capital payback for the project.
Gale says the announcement highlights the strategic importance of BDP’s resources, particularly in light of Chinese export controls on rare earths implemented on April 4, 2025.
The Caldeira Project is positioned to supply critical rare earths, including those affected by these restrictions, reinforcing its role as a low-cost, alternative global source.
